Description

The TEPLOANTIKORZASHCHITA Research and Production Center has developed an all-season liquid thermal insulation product, ALLISOL®. The material is completely ready for use and can be easily applied with any paint or varnish method at any temperature (from -35°C to +50°C).

Technical characteristics of the special composition "ALLISOL®"

ALLISOL® coating is a single-component, liquid compound (ready to use) consisting of a heat-insulating filler, volatile substances, and binding agents.
The coating is supplied in a hermetically sealed container.

Each packaging unit is labeled with the following:

manufacturer's name;
product designation;
batch number and manufacturing date;
net weight.
The guaranteed shelf life of ZINTEC is 18 months.

The product has an unlimited shelf life when stored at temperatures from -40°C to +30°C in unopened, undamaged original packaging.

Compatibility with other coatings

ALLISOL® is easily compatible with 90% of solvent-borne topcoats. It is guaranteed compatible with polyurethane, urethane-acrylic, acrylic, epoxy, vinyl chloride, chlorinated rubber, and alkyd coatings. For ideal compatibility, wait at least 12 hours after applying ALLISOL® to allow the solvent to evaporate and prevent further adhesion.
To prevent corrosion when applied to metal surfaces, it is recommended to use ZINTEC® protective primer.

The coating is not resistant to gasoline and a number of organic solvents, so it should be covered with a topcoat that is resistant to this environment.

Process

It is recommended that the thermal insulation coating application process be carried out at an ambient temperature of at least -30°C.
When performing thermal insulation work outdoors in winter, the following is required:

Constructing canopies or shelters to protect against precipitation;
The metal surface temperature must be at least +3°C above the dew point.

Surface preparation for coating application

All parts of the product to be protected must be accessible for inspection, surface preparation, application of the protective coating, and quality control.

The surface of the product to be prepared before coating application must be free of burrs, sharp edges (less than 0.3 mm in radius), weld spatter, solder laps, burns, and flux residue. Welds on metal structures (rolled angles, plates, etc.) must not have hidden cracks or cavities. If oil, grease, or other contaminants are present, clean the surface with detergents.

Before applying the ALLISOL® coating, the metal surface must be prepared: cleaned mechanically and degreased with solvent or xylene.

When manually processing the surface with grinding wheels or abrasive paper, the abrasive grit should be in the range of 5 to 6 according to GOST 3647-71, or 180 to 220 according to the European FEPA standard. After using both manual and mechanical cleaning methods, the surface must be dust-free. No untreated areas are permitted.

Compressed air used for cleaning must be dry, clean, and comply with GOST 9.010-80.

When degreasing the surface in small sections, apply the mixture with a clean brush moistened with solvents such as solvent or xylene.

Apply the working compound to the cleaned and degreased surface no later than 12 hours if the metal structures are outdoors, or 48 hours if they are indoors.

Preparation of the working composition

ALLISOL® is ready-to-use and can be applied by brush, roller, or spray gun. If necessary, the material can be thinned with solvents (petroleum or coal tar) or xylene. Do not dilute ALLISOL® with other thinners.
Before use, ALLISOL® must be mixed in a container until a homogeneous mass is formed using a mixer at a speed of no more than 300 rpm.

Application of material

Apply the working compound to a clean and degreased surface no later than 12 hours if the metal structures are outdoors, or 48 hours if the metal is indoors.
Regardless of the chosen application method, welds and areas difficult to reach with paint spraying equipment should first be painted with a brush.

ALLISOL® can be applied to the surface using a brush, roller, spray gun, or dipping.

Brush application:
The brush should be made of natural bristles and free of dust and other contaminants. Thinning ALLISOL® with thinners is not required under standard conditions.
Roller application:
The roller should be made of a material resistant to organic solvents and free of dirt and previously used paints and varnishes. Thinning ALLISOL® under standard conditions is not required. Application by air spray:
Equipment must be free of contaminants from previously used paints and varnishes. Allisol® can be thinned, if necessary, with solvent or xylene thinners at a ratio of up to 5% by weight. Air pressure: 0.2-0.3 MPa (2-3 bar). Nozzle diameter: 2.0-3.0 mm.
Airless spray:
Equipment must be free of contaminants from previously used paints and varnishes. Allisol® can be thinned, if necessary, with solvent or xylene thinners at a ratio of up to 4% by weight. Air pressure: 8-12 MPa (80-120 bar). Nozzle diameter: 0.015-0.025 inches or 0.38-0.63 mm. The ALLISOL® working compound must be stirred periodically during application (every 20-30 minutes), regardless of the method.
The material must be applied in layers, overlapping the edge of the previously applied strip.

All ALLISOL® application work must be carried out at temperatures ranging from -30°C to +50°C and relative humidity up to 90%.

The compound can be applied to a damp surface. However, there must be no water droplets on the surface, and at sub-zero temperatures, no ice buildup must be present. It is recommended to use shelters when applying the coating in precipitation (snow, rain).
